I was born in Key West and lived in Hawaii, New York and Virginia before moving to Port Charlotte when I was 12. I attended Lemon Bay for 7th through 11th grade but graduated from Port Charlotte High...GO PIRATES!!
While I was in high school I used to travel to Tampa and hang out with the jocks at 95 WYNF (a heritage Tampa rock station). It was Charlie Logan, Russ Albums and Ron Diaz who encouraged me to pursue a radio career. Straight out of High School I began working as a dental assistant and also landed my first radio job with WENG in Englewood. I then moved on to WEEJ in Port Charlotte. I took some time away from radio to start a family but I missed the excitement of being on air and eventually went back to work at KIX Country.
After a few years of working part-time on and off the microphone for KIX Country I was offered a full-time position as Music Director and Assistant Program Director. This year marks 13 years working for KIX Country and in October '06 I became your mid-day on air personality.
Thanks so much to my son Matthew for orginally showing me this video.
